Trainee LPG Technician

About the role

RamcoGas Uganda is looking for a motivated Trainee LPG Technician to join its field team. The successful candidate will receive comprehensive on‑the‑job training to become proficient in installing, servicing, and maintaining LPG equipment for residential and commercial customers.

Key responsibilities

• Install bulk storage tanks at customer sites, ensuring compliance with all regulations and company safety standards.
• Deliver, repair, install, and maintain LPG appliances such as furnaces, ranges, water heaters, and generators.
• Educate customers on safe operation, maintenance, and optimal use of LPG equipment.
• Prepare work orders, invoices, and detailed reports of installations and gas deliveries.
• Install and maintain gas piping systems, including underground and above‑ground lines, regulators, meters, and dispensing equipment.
• Maintain, paint, and repair company‑owned equipment, including tanks, cylinders, and valves.
• Operate company vehicles safely and be available for after‑hour calls on a rotating basis.
• Perform any additional duties assigned by the supervisor.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and genuine interest in gas systems.
• Excellent communication and customer‑service skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to undergo comprehensive training.
• Valid rider’s license.

Required skills

• LPG appliance installation and maintenance.
• Gas piping installation and pressure checks.
• Equipment maintenance and repair.
