WASH Specialist (P-3) – Technical Assistance, Kampala

About the role

The WASH Specialist (P-3) is based in the UNICEF Uganda Country Office and provides dedicated technical, programme management and partnership support to the WASH portfolio, with a special focus on the KOICA‑supported climate‑resilient WASH programme in Karamoja.

Key responsibilities

• Design evidence‑based WASH and climate programmes.
• Track implementation, resources and results to ensure delivery of programme outcomes.
• Provide technical guidance and resolve operational bottlenecks during implementation.
• Support emergency readiness and humanitarian WASH response.
• Strengthen partnerships, advocacy and resource mobilisation.
• Promote learning, innovation and capacity development through knowledge management.
• Integrate climate‑resilience and sustainability into programme activities.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or equivalent in Public Health, Environmental Engineering, Climate Studies or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in WASH, programme management, monitoring & evaluation, partnerships, or climate‑action.
• At least 1 year of deployment experience in a developing country.
• Demonstrated expertise in WASH systems, humanitarian WASH, programme management, policy and financing, equity and inclusion, and climate‑resilient programming.
• Fluency in English.
