Accounts Receivable Finance Specialist

About the role

The Accounts Receivable Finance Specialist will oversee the company's AR function, ensuring timely collection of payments, accurate recording of customer transactions, and effective credit control. This role supports cash‑flow management and reporting while maintaining strong customer relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Process and record invoices, credit notes and payments in the ERP system, and monitor accounts for overdue balances.
• Prepare and distribute customer statements, invoices and reminder letters on a regular basis.
• Conduct proactive collections via phone, email or visits, negotiate payment plans and escalate chronic delinquencies.
• Evaluate customer creditworthiness and recommend credit limits and payment terms.
• Perform monthly reconciliations of the AR sub‑ledger with the general ledger and resolve discrepancies.
• Generate weekly and monthly AR reports, including aging analysis, collection forecasts and DSO metrics.
• Serve as the primary contact for billing inquiries, payment issues and account adjustments, resolving disputes in coordination with sales and service teams.
• Apply customer payments accurately, perform daily cash reconciliation and support treasury cash‑flow planning.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and Ugandan tax regulations (VAT, Withholding Tax) and maintain organized documentation.
