About the role
The Cardiovascular Technologist works full‑time on‑site at UTAR Hospital, supporting cardiologists and the multidisciplinary care team in both diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures. The role ensures patient safety, accurate imaging, and seamless workflow in the cath lab and related areas.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare patients for cardiovascular exams, explain procedures, and monitor them throughout diagnostic and catheterisation tests.
- Operate, maintain, and perform quality checks on imaging and monitoring equipment in the cath lab.
- Assist during invasive and non‑invasive cardiovascular procedures, providing intra‑procedural support and post‑procedural care.
- Document and verify test results, maintain accurate patient records, and adhere to safety, infection‑control, and radiation‑protection protocols.
- Participate in workflow coordination, equipment troubleshooting, and collaborative case discussions to ensure high‑quality patient outcomes.
Required profile
- Diploma or degree in Cardiovascular Technology, Radiologic Technology, or a related allied‑health field.
- Professional certification or eligibility (e.g., ARRT or equivalent recognized cardiovascular imaging/technologist certification).
- Strong foundation in cardiology and medicine to support diagnostic and interventional procedures.
- Ability to follow clinical protocols, maintain detailed documentation, and work effectively in a fast‑paced hospital environment.
- Willingness to participate in shift work, on‑call duties, and continuous professional development.
Required skills
- Cath Lab procedures, including patient preparation, intra‑procedural support, and post‑procedural care.
- Operation of radiology imaging systems and application of radiation safety principles.
- Equipment troubleshooting and routine quality checks.
- Accurate documentation of test results and patient records.
