Driver – MOFA Japan Project

About the role

World Vision is seeking a reliable driver for its MOFA Japan Project. The role involves transporting authorized passengers, delivering goods and information, and maintaining the vehicle in accordance with World Vision policies.

Key responsibilities

• Drive World Vision vehicles and authorized passengers to approved destinations safely and on time.
• Complete accurate vehicle log‑books for each journey.
• Deliver packages, mail and other items to designated locations following organisational procedures.
• Inspect vehicle condition before trips (oil, water, brakes, tyre pressure, insurance, etc.) and perform routine maintenance such as topping up fluids, tightening bolts and correcting hard starts.
• Monitor security of the vehicle, passengers and luggage; ensure non‑World Vision staff sign waiver forms before boarding.
• Report any damages or accidents promptly to the supervisor.
• Coordinate with the logistics officer for timely service and repairs.
• Prepare and submit monthly vehicle reports in line with World Vision policy.

Required profile

• Minimum O‑Level certificate.
• At least five years of driving experience in a similar context, preferably with NGOs or humanitarian agencies.
• Valid driving licence (Class B, D1 and any Class C; Class A1 is an advantage) and a recognised Defensive Driving certificate.
• Computer literacy and ability to communicate effectively in English (knowledge of the local language is a plus).
• Practising Christian and active church member.
• Familiarity with national road‑safety rules and regulations.
