French Teacher (Grades 9-12) – 2026-27

About the role

The French Teacher will provide students in grades 9‑12 with engaging learning activities that support intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. The role focuses on developing competencies that enable students to succeed in society while fostering a positive, inclusive classroom environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with district curriculum and Texas Education Agency guidelines.
• Adapt instruction to accommodate diverse learning styles and special education needs, collaborating with IEP teams.
• Assess student learning through formal and informal testing and use results to inform instruction.
• Integrate technology to enhance teaching and learning processes.
• Supervise teacher aides and volunteers, delegating tasks and overseeing their work.
• Manage classroom behavior in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct.
• Communicate regularly with parents, students, and administrators through conferences and written updates.
• Participate in professional development activities and serve on school committees as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with appropriate endorsements for French and secondary education.
• Strong knowledge of French language curriculum and instructional strategies.
• Ability to manage classroom behavior and create a supportive learning environment.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
