Funded EU Delegation Traineeship in Political Press & Information

About the role

The EU Delegation to Uganda offers a funded traineeship of up to six months in the Political Press and Information (PPI) Section. The position is designed for recent graduates residing in Uganda who wish to gain hands‑on experience in diplomatic work and EU‑Uganda cooperation.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct research and analysis on EU‑Uganda cooperation and political developments.
• Draft analytical reports, briefings and summaries for internal and external audiences.
• Assist in coordinating data and inputs from EU Member States.
• Support the organisation of events, meetings and youth‑engagement initiatives.
• Prepare reports on meetings and events attended.
• Contribute to communication and visibility activities, including social‑media content.
• Maintain and organise archival records related to EU‑Uganda cooperation.

Required profile

• Current residence in Uganda.
• Bachelor’s degree in political science, social science, economics, communications, history or a related field.
• Less than one year of professional experience after graduation.
• Very good spoken and written English.
• High motivation, strong initiative and ability to work in a multicultural team.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience managing social‑media platforms.
• Strong research, writing and analytical abilities.
