Funded Traineeship in Political Press & Information – EU Delegation Uganda

About the role

The EU Delegation to Uganda offers a funded traineeship for a recent graduate interested in international relations and diplomatic work. You will join the Political Press and Information Section for up to six months, gaining hands‑on experience in research, reporting and communication activities.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct in‑depth research on EU‑Uganda cooperation and political developments.
• Draft analytical reports, briefings and meeting summaries.
• Assist in coordinating data and inputs from EU Member States.
• Support the organisation of events and youth‑engagement initiatives.
• Participate in meetings, prepare comprehensive reports and contribute to visibility activities.
• Maintain and organise archival records related to EU‑Uganda cooperation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in political science, social science, economics, communications, history or a related field.
• Less than one year of professional experience after graduation.
• Very good spoken and written English.
• Highly motivated, able to work in a multicultural team and take initiative.
• Knowledge of Uganda’s institutional context is an asset.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience managing social media platforms.
• Strong research, writing and analytical abilities.
• Organisational and archiving skills.
