Hostess – Guest Service

About the role

The Hostess is the first point of contact for guests at the hotel restaurant, ensuring a warm welcome and smooth seating process. This role supports the dining team by maintaining a clean and organized environment and assisting guests throughout their visit.

Key responsibilities

• Greet guests, determine party size, and manage the waiting list.
• Seat guests by selecting clean, available tables, pulling out chairs, and presenting current menus.
• Guide guests through the dining area, providing assistance as needed.
• Arrange tables, chairs, and settings for groups with special needs.
• Ensure each place setting includes a napkin, clean silverware, and any other standard items.
• Check menus for cleanliness, currency, and proper presentation.
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas using clean‑as‑you‑go procedures.
• Monitor dining rooms for seating availability, safety, and guest well‑being.
• Follow company safety, security, and uniform policies.
• Answer telephone calls with appropriate etiquette and maintain professional language.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• No prior work experience required.
• No supervisory experience required.
• No specific license or certification required.
