Infrastructure Quality Assurance Officer – Data Center

About the role

We are looking for an Infrastructure Quality Assurance Officer to lead the QA/QC programme for physical IT infrastructure projects, including data‑center build‑outs, structured cabling and mission‑critical power and cooling systems. The role involves on‑site inspections, compliance verification and coordination with multiple stakeholders to ensure projects meet technical and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Design and manage a QA/QC programme tailored to physical infrastructure, cabling and data‑center builds.
• Conduct on‑site inspections of fiber/copper routes, rack installations, containment systems and power/cooling distribution.
• Verify that deployed components match the Bill of Quantities in specification and volume.
• Coordinate with Procurement and Logistics to ensure incoming supplies meet project standards before site delivery.
• Partner with heads of departments and project managers to identify design flaws or resource shortages.
• Define and enforce escalation matrices for defects, non‑conformances and site incidents.
• Ensure installations comply with TIA/EIA, ISO and local electrical/safety codes.
• Guarantee solutions meet government IT standards, data‑privacy laws and security mandates.
• Compile As‑Built documentation and User Acceptance Testing scripts.
• Work with CISO, DPO and HR to operationalise ISO 9001, ISO 27001, ISO 20000 and Uganda’s DPPA.
• Review and approve test reports for project sign‑off and payment milestones.
• Mentor site supervisors and subcontractors on quality requirements.
• Enforce site health and safety protocols alongside quality checks.

Required profile

• Proven experience in QA/QC for physical IT infrastructure or data‑center projects.
• Strong knowledge of TIA/EIA, ISO 9001, ISO 27001, ISO 20000 and Ugandan DPPA regulations.
• Ability to coordinate across procurement, logistics, engineering and security teams.
• Excellent analytical skills to identify design issues and drive corrective actions.
• Hands‑on experience with on‑site inspections and As‑Built documentation.
