Innovation Manager – In-Line Chlorination

About the role

Evidence Action is seeking an Innovation Manager to lead the new In‑Line Chlorination (ILC) Innovation Team within the Safe Water Now program. Based in Mbale, Uganda, you will build and manage a team that pilots and scales technical improvements to ILC devices, aiming to deliver safe drinking water to millions.

Key responsibilities

• Recruit, hire, and develop a dedicated innovation team.
• Design and execute rapid field pilots to test device performance, cost reductions, and community engagement strategies.
• Analyze pilot results and develop scalable solutions for broader rollout across Kenya, Uganda, Malawi, and India.
• Collaborate with country, regional, and global teams to align innovations with program goals.
• Provide regular updates and insights to senior leadership on progress and impact.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading innovation or research teams in low‑resource settings.
• Strong understanding of water‑treatment technologies and public‑health impact.
• Ability to manage cross‑functional collaborations across multiple countries.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
