Lecturer in Foundation Learning (SEND Specialist)

We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Foundation Learning Lecturer (SEND) to join our team in a part-time, temporary capacity, providing high-quality education within an inclusive and supportive environment.

Main Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, highly accessible lessons tailored to individual learning styles.
• Support students in developing essential life skills, fostering independence, and building self-confidence.
• Adapt teaching methodologies to meet a wide variety of abilities and specific SEND requirements.
• Monitor, assess, and accurately record student progress to ensure continuous development.
• Collaborate closely with support staff and pedagogical teams to ensure a holistic approach to learning.
• Promote and maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom atmosphere.

Candidate Profile

• Must hold a valid teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent).
• Proven experience working with learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
• Demonstrated experience within a Foundation Learning framework or SEND provision.
• Strong understanding of differentiated teaching approaches and inclusive pedagogy.
• Must hold an enhanced DBS certificate covering both adults and children (or be registered with the Update Service).
