Operations Assistant

About the role

We are looking for an Operations Assistant to support the day‑to‑day activities of Ramcogas in Kampala. The role involves coordinating staff attendance, managing the vehicle fleet, monitoring stock levels and ensuring client orders are delivered on time, all while maintaining high standards of safety and service quality.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Operations Manager in overseeing daily business operations.
• Support team leadership by helping with guidance, training and performance monitoring.
• Maintain the vehicle fleet, ensuring mechanical soundness and presentation.
• Track staff attendance and report any issues promptly.
• Monitor client order fulfillment and flag delivery problems.
• Manage inventory levels and coordinate stock purchases when needed.
• Ensure remote branch staff perform assigned duties and uphold professional appearance.
• Develop and improve standard operating procedures and participate in weekly staff meetings.
• Enforce health and safety policies across all operations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management or a related field.
• Minimum two years of experience in a similar operations support role.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks and work under pressure.
• Problem‑solving mindset with a creative and strategic approach.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
