People & Culture Locum Assistant

About the role

TPO Uganda is seeking a People & Culture Locum Assistant to provide administrative and operational support to its People & Culture function for a three‑month period (October–December 2026). The role assists in the smooth execution of employee lifecycle processes and day‑to‑day HR activities while ensuring confidentiality and compliance with organisational policies.

Key responsibilities

• Support recruitment and selection, including drafting job ads, shortlisting candidates, arranging interviews and facilitating onboarding.
• Prepare and process employment contracts, extensions, renewals and related documentation.
• Maintain accurate employee records and personnel files.
• Assist with onboarding, induction and separation procedures.
• Update and monitor P&C trackers, databases and ensure timely follow‑up of lifecycle actions.
• Support performance management activities such as probation reviews and appraisals.
• Contribute to staff welfare, engagement, learning, development and recognition initiatives.
• Help implement P&C policies, guidelines, procedures and tools.
• Provide routine administrative support to staff and supervisors on HR processes.
• Prepare P&C reports, correspondence and other documentation while safeguarding confidentiality.

Required profile

• Suitable qualification for an entry‑level HR role.
• At least 12 months of relevant experience.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Strong organisational and administrative skills.
