Social Media Influencer Consultant

About the role

The Social Media Influencer Consultant will help PELUM Uganda amplify its work with smallholder farmers and ecological land‑use management. Based in Kampala, the consultant will design and run social‑media campaigns that showcase project impact and engage diverse audiences.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategic social‑media campaigns across platforms such as Facebook, X/Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and TikTok.
• Create engaging content including posts, short videos, stories, photographs and graphics.
• Manage audience interactions, grow reach and foster engagement with followers.
• Collaborate with program staff to translate project activities and impact stories into compelling digital narratives.
• Monitor performance metrics, produce analytics reports and recommend improvements.
• Identify partnership opportunities with relevant influencers or organisations and advise on enhancing the online presence.

Required profile

• Strong experience in social‑media content creation and management on major platforms.
• Ability to design and implement social‑media strategies, targeting audiences and measuring results.
• Competence in basic digital media production – short‑video creation, photography, graphic design and use of editing tools.
• Proficiency in social‑media analytics and reporting using platform insights or third‑party tools.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication, with culturally sensitive messaging.
• Interest or experience in agriculture, rural development, environmental sustainability or civil‑society advocacy.
• Relevant education or training in communications, marketing, media or equivalent practical experience.
