Spiritual Nurture of Children Officer

About the role

The Spiritual Nurture of Children (SNOC) Officer will work on the ground in Bukooma, Uganda, implementing the SCORE project funded by World Vision US. The role focuses on helping registered children discover and grow in their relationship with Jesus while strengthening local churches to sustain spiritual nurture across the community.

Key responsibilities

• Lead mobilisation and assessment of Bible and age‑appropriate spiritual material needs for children, families, churches and local pastors.
• Support the development and localisation of spiritual nurture (SNC) material in partnership with churches.
• Oversee procurement, distribution and monitoring of Bibles and other SNC resources.
• Evaluate utilisation of spiritual materials and report findings.
• Coordinate SCORE interventions with F&D and local church structures, delivering activities such as holiday camps, school‑based SNC clubs, Bible studies and parent peer‑support groups.
• Strengthen the capacity of churches and community actors to sustain spiritual nurture programmes.

Required profile

• Commitment to World Vision’s Christian values and faith distinctives.
• Ability to work effectively in a field environment and collaborate with local churches and community leaders.
• Experience in coordinating child‑focused spiritual or community programmes is desirable.
