Team Leader, ReSET Programme

About the role

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) in Uganda is seeking a dynamic Team Leader to steer the five‑year, FCDO‑funded ReSET programme. This senior position will guide the overall strategy, implementation and results of a complex, multi‑partner humanitarian effort aimed at sustainable refugee support and self‑reliance.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and overall management of the ReSET programme, ensuring alignment with IRC policies and donor expectations.
• Serve as the primary point of accountability to the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), delivering high‑quality programme results.
• Oversee a consortium of implementing partners, coordinating multisectoral activities across lifesaving assistance and self‑reliance pillars.
• Lead efforts to make the refugee response more sustainable, locally owned, and resilient for both refugees and host communities.
• Collaborate closely with IRC country, regional and headquarters leadership to ensure effective programme delivery.
• Liaise with FCDO activity officers and technical support teams, managing reporting, monitoring and evaluation.

Required profile

• Extensive experience managing large‑scale humanitarian programmes, preferably in refugee contexts.
• Proven ability to lead multi‑partner consortia and navigate complex donor relationships.
• Strong understanding of cash‑first principles, evidence‑based graduation models and resilience building.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
