Tele Sales Intern – Customer Service & Support

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Tele Sales Intern to join Zenka Finance’s customer service team in Kampala. You will engage with prospective borrowers across multiple channels, supporting loan applications and promoting our financial products. You will also collaborate with cross‑functional teams to continuously improve the customer experience.

Key responsibilities

• Handle inbound and outbound customer inquiries via phone, email, chat and social media.
• Assist applicants with loan processing and conduct KYC verification.
• Resolve complaints, escalating complex issues when necessary.
• Promote Zenka’s loan offerings and referral programmes.
• Maintain accurate customer records while ensuring data confidentiality.
• Educate customers on responsible borrowing and repayment options.
• Collaborate with internal teams to enhance the overall customer journey.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory standards.

Required profile

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Customer Service or related field.
• At least one year of experience in debt collection, customer service, call‑center operations or similar.
• Flexibility to work extended hours, weekends and public holidays.
• Strong communication, negotiation and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to handle challenging conversations professionally.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CRM tools.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel for data tracking.
