Warehouse Assistant

About the role

The Warehouse Assistant supports the International Rescue Committee’s Core Relief Items (CRI) warehouse, ensuring safe receipt, storage, tracking and dispatch of humanitarian supplies. Working closely with the Field Manager, you will help maintain accurate inventory records and comply with IRC and UNHCR procedures to enable timely distribution to refugees and asylum‑seekers.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor security, cleanliness and safety of the warehouse at all times.
• Receive CRI deliveries, verify quantities against waybills, delivery notes and purchase orders, and inspect items for quality, damage or expiry.
• Organise items using FIFO/FEFO principles, label and stack goods for easy identification and movement.
• Maintain and update stock documentation including Goods Received Notes, bin cards, dispatch notes and waybills.
• Perform daily, weekly and monthly stock reconciliations and support periodic physical counts.
• Report discrepancies, losses, damages or expiries promptly to the Field Manager and Protection Coordinator.
• Prepare items for dispatch according to approved distribution plans and assist with loading and off‑loading.
• Compile monthly reports on expendables, assets and equipment.
