Commercial Kitchen Designer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Kitchen Designer to create efficient, functional kitchen layouts for restaurants, cafés, bakeries, catering facilities and central kitchens in Kampala, Uganda.

Key responsibilities

• Plan commercial kitchen workflows and space utilization.
• Develop equipment layouts and detailed shop drawings.
• Produce utility coordination, exhaust hood and ventilation drawings.
• Design cold room, freezer and stainless‑steel fabrication drawings.
• Coordinate with architects, MEP consultants, contractors and suppliers.
• Conduct site visits and oversee project coordination.
• Prepare Bills of Quantities and equipment specifications.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial kitchen design.
• Experience with restaurant, bakery, café or central kitchen projects.
• Diploma or degree in Drafting, Architecture, Interior Design, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology or related field.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Familiarity with SketchUp or other 3D modelling software (preferred).
