Executive Director

About the role

The Executive Director (ED) provides ethical, mission‑aligned leadership for the entire Lacor Hospital Complex, a Catholic not‑for‑profit referral and teaching hospital serving over half a million people in northern Uganda. Reporting to the Board of Directors and appointed by the Annual General Meeting, the ED is the chief executive officer responsible for integrating all directorates, implementing Board‑approved policies, and safeguarding quality, access, sustainability, assets and reputation.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure major decisions reflect Lacor’s Catholic identity, medical ethics and the “Patient First” principle.
• Lead the implementation of Board‑approved strategies and oversee the performance of all hospital units.
• Maintain a safe, non‑discriminatory environment with effective safeguarding mechanisms.
• Hold senior managers collectively accountable for results and provide decisive, timely leadership.
• Act as the legal representative of the hospital and protect its assets and reputation.

Required profile

• Demonstrated ability to provide ethical, mission‑focused executive leadership.
• Experience in senior management of complex health or not‑for‑profit organisations.
• Capacity to integrate multiple directorates and drive institutional performance.
