Financial Inclusion Officer – Gulu

About the role

The Financial Inclusion Officer will support FINCA Uganda’s mission to expand access to financial services in the Gulu region. Working closely with the Branch Manager, you will lead community‑based sales, marketing and financial literacy activities to grow the group‑lending portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Co‑create monthly sales and marketing plans for target catchment areas, including community drives, focus groups and door‑to‑door campaigns.
• Design and deliver a three‑part training package for potential group‑lending customers, aiming to meet monthly targets.
• Conduct financial literacy sessions, explain FINCA’s Self‑Managed Group product methodology, and guide groups in leader selection and governance.
• Emphasise group cohesion, record‑keeping and readiness assessment for accessing FINCA financial services.
• Implement agreed action plans, provide weekly progress feedback to the Branch Manager and coordinate with the Product Associate.

Required profile

• Diploma in Business, Marketing, Education or a related field.
• Fluency in English and the local language of the operating area.
• Ability to ride a motorcycle for field visits.
• Strong sales, marketing and customer‑service orientation.
• Good interpersonal, problem‑solving, time‑management and communication skills.
