About the role
The Livelihood Program Officer will lead the implementation of Objective 4 of the IPEECL project, strengthening rural households’ livelihoods and resilience through diversified and sustainable economic opportunities. The role focuses on reducing child labour by empowering vulnerable families, youth, and farmer groups with financial literacy, access to finance, and livelihood diversification.
Key responsibilities
- Mobilise and support farmers to form or join smallholder producer groups and cooperatives, providing training on collective marketing and access to inputs.
- Map and link households and youth to financial service providers and government funding schemes, delivering financial literacy training.
- Identify out‑of‑school children and youth engaged in child labour, refer them to vocational training centres, and coordinate life‑skills training.
- Support youth who complete training to access start‑up capital, enterprise development, or decent‑wage employment, and track transition pathways.
- Provide training and starter kits to vulnerable households for livelihood diversification.
Required profile
- Experience in implementing livelihood programmes and community mobilisation.
- Knowledge of financial inclusion mechanisms and youth skills development.
- Ability to work collaboratively with child protection, private‑sector engagement, and MEAL teams.
