Bicycle Mechanic – MWR Support for US Navy Program

About the role

Amentum is looking for a skilled Bicycle Mechanic to support Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) programs for a US Navy installation on Diego Garcia. The role involves assembling, repairing, and maintaining both government‑owned and customer bicycles to ensure safe and reliable operation.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble new bicycles and install replacement parts according to manufacturer specifications.
• Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and adjustments on rental bicycles.
• Maintain a detailed repair log and provide it for government review twice a month.
• Provide on‑site support during bike races and other MWR events.
• Keep the bike shop clean, organized, and stocked with functional tools.
• Interact with customers to address service requests, inquiries, and concerns.
• Identify, order, and manage inventory of replacement parts and supplies.

Required profile

• 1‑3 years of experience as a bicycle mechanic or in bicycle assembly/repair.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of bicycle mechanics, safety standards, and manufacturer guidelines.
• Experience maintaining accurate service records or logs.
• Basic mechanical problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
