Branch Unit Leader – Insurance & Investment

About the role

The Branch Unit Leader will manage and grow the branch’s portfolio of insurance, pensions and investment products in Kampala. Reporting to senior management, the role combines team leadership, business development and customer service to achieve sales targets and ensure regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and expand the branch’s insurance, pensions and investment portfolio.
• Supervise, mentor and coach sales agents to achieve performance targets.
• Set branch sales targets and monitor daily results against goals.
• Develop and implement branch‑level business plans and growth strategies.
• Drive customer acquisition, retention and high‑quality service delivery.
• Conduct regular training sessions and support agents in field activities.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare performance reports, analyse market opportunities and recommend actions.
• Collaborate with senior management to improve operations and meet strategic objectives.

Required profile

• Demonstrated leadership and team‑management experience in a sales environment.
• Strong sales, business development and customer relationship skills in financial services.
• Ability to plan, organise and execute branch‑level strategies, including target setting and performance tracking.
• Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal abilities to coach diverse teams.
• Good understanding of insurance, pensions and investment products or a strong willingness to learn quickly.
• Proven problem‑solving, analytical and decision‑making capabilities with attention to detail.
• Comfortable working on‑site in a performance‑driven environment with field visits.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, marketing or a related field; relevant certifications are a plus.
