Field Logistics & Procurement Assistant

About the role

The Field Logistics & Procurement Assistant supports day‑to‑day logistics, procurement and supply‑chain activities for Wildlife Conservation Society’s programs in Uganda. Working from the field, the assistant ensures that goods, services and equipment are acquired, stored and moved efficiently while complying with WCS policies, donor rules and national regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare procurement requests, gather quotations and liaise with suppliers.
• Track orders, deliveries and services to guarantee timely receipt and proper documentation.
• Manage warehouse storage, conduct regular stock counts and maintain accurate inventory records.
• Support asset tracking, labeling and updates to asset registers.
• Oversee vehicle, generator and equipment logbooks, fuel tracking and basic maintenance coordination.
• Assist with transport arrangements for goods, staff and visitors.
• Maintain basic IT and communication equipment (internet, radios, GPS) and coordinate repairs.
• Report losses, damages, discrepancies and facility issues promptly.

Required profile

• Mid‑level experience (approximately 2 years) in logistics, procurement or supply‑chain support.
• Ability to work in remote field environments and coordinate with program, finance and security teams.
• Strong attention to detail and compliance with donor and regulatory requirements.
