About the role
The Grants Finance Manager will lead the financial management of grant funding for Water for Good, ensuring compliance with donor requirements and internal policies. This role will oversee budgeting, forecasting, accounting, and reporting for restricted funds, supporting the organization’s mission to provide sustainable safe water and sanitation.
Key responsibilities
- Manage the full lifecycle of grant funding, from budget creation to final reporting.
- Track and report on restricted funds, maintaining audit‑ready documentation.
- Develop and maintain grant financial reporting systems, dashboards, and automated reports.
- Provide training and guidance to in‑country finance teams on grant management.
- Monitor grant budgets and expenditures to ensure compliance with funding restrictions.
- Forecast grant spending and cash‑flow needs.
- Support internal departments such as Grants, Finance, and Operations with grant‑specific financial analysis.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting.
- 5+ years of progressive finance, grant management, or accounting experience in a non‑profit setting.
- 3+ years managing public or foundation grants.
- Strong knowledge of nonprofit accounting principles and grant compliance.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving abilities.
- Advanced English communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Legally eligible to work in Uganda without sponsorship.
