Import & Export Supervisor – Uganda Operations

About the role

The Import & Export Supervisor will lead the Uganda Import & Export Department, ensuring smooth day‑to‑day trade, factory imports and export activities. This role supports the scaling of the Uganda factory by strengthening team capability, improving processes and guaranteeing compliance with international trade and customs regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily operations of the Import & Export Department, planning and monitoring activities to meet production and business needs.
• Develop, implement and continuously optimise standard operating procedures for import and export processes.
• Lead, coach and mentor the Import & Export team, overseeing onboarding, training and performance management.
• Coordinate with internal functions (Procurement, Finance, Warehouse, Production, Sales) and external partners (customs authorities, shipping lines, freight forwarders) to ensure efficient logistics.
• Oversee complex customs clearance, resolve documentation issues and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Manage import/export projects from planning through execution, monitoring timelines and mitigating risks.
• Support departmental planning, policy development and reporting initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising import, export or international trade operations.
• Strong knowledge of customs regulations and documentation requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a high‑performing team.
• Excellent coordination skills with internal departments and external agencies.
• Analytical mindset for process improvement and risk management.
