About the role
The Department of Disease Control & Environmental Health at Makerere University is seeking a full‑time Lecturer to join its teaching and research team. The successful candidate will contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, support community‑based research, and help expand the department’s funding base.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver lectures, conduct examinations and assign grades for relevant courses.
- Supervise student research projects and theses.
- Mentor junior academic staff and provide guidance on teaching methods.
- Carry out original research and engage in community outreach activities.
- Write grant proposals to attract external funding for departmental initiatives.
- Perform any additional duties assigned by the Head of Department.
Required profile
- PhD in Public Health.
- Master of Public Health (MPH) degree.
- Honours Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery.
