Monitoring & Evaluation Verification Specialist (Pool)

About the role

The Monitoring and Evaluation Verification Specialist will conduct hands‑on field verification of reported health service delivery and health‑system results across Uganda’s health system. Working within multidisciplinary verification teams, the specialist will ensure that milestone achievements are accurate, complete, and supported by verifiable evidence.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in verification orientation, training and become familiar with assigned milestones, indicators and verification protocols.
• Review reports and data, contribute to sampling and planning of field verification activities.
• Prepare for assignments by studying indicator definitions, data sources, reporting systems and verification templates.
• Conduct on‑site source data verification at community level, health facilities, districts, referral hospitals and national entities.
• Reconcile source records, routine health information, program and administrative records to assess data quality and consistency.
• Document findings, prepare verification reports and provide evidence‑based recommendations.

Required profile

• Experience in health monitoring and evaluation, preferably within government or donor‑funded programmes.
• Familiarity with health information systems and routine health data sources.
• Ability to work independently and as part of multidisciplinary teams.
• Willingness to travel to field sites across Uganda, including remote communities.
