Night Auditor – Hotel Finance

About the role

The Income Night Auditor ensures accurate end‑of‑day financial processing for a Marriott hotel in Kampala. Working overnight, you will handle guest billing, cash management and support front‑desk operations while maintaining high standards of hospitality.

Key responsibilities

• Complete end‑of‑day activities: post charges, run night‑audit backup and roll the date.
• Process all payment types (room charges, cash, checks, debit, credit) and handle adjustment, paid‑out and correction vouchers.
• Print contingency lists for emergency guest records.
• Sell rooms without prior reservations based on availability.
• Operate the telephone switchboard, manage wake‑up calls and relay guest messages.
• Prepare the Room Rate Variance Report.
• Check‑in guests, assign rooms and issue/re‑issue electronic key cards.
• Count and secure the bank at shift end, balance and drop receipts per accounting guidelines.
• Report accidents, injuries or unsafe conditions to management.
• Follow company policies, maintain professional appearance and protect confidential information.
• Provide courteous guest service, assist guests with disabilities and uphold quality‑assurance standards.
• Lift, move or place objects up to 10 lb without assistance and perform other reasonable duties as assigned.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Less than one year of related experience in hotel night audit or front‑desk operations.
• No supervisory experience required.
• No specific license or certification required.

Required skills

• Cash handling and basic accounting procedures.
• Operation of telephone switchboard and electronic key systems.
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently during night shifts.
