About the role
The People Consultant I – Pipeline will support Smollan’s retail and FMCG operations in Uganda by driving effective HR processes across the business unit. You will work closely with managers to ensure recruitment, performance management and employee development are aligned with company goals.
Key responsibilities
- Lead recruitment, selection and onboarding activities to attract top talent.
- Manage the performance management system, including reviews and improvement plans.
- Coordinate training and development initiatives for staff.
- Handle performance issues, disciplinary actions and industrial relations matters.
- Maintain accurate HR data, generate reports and ensure compliance with policies.
- Support people management functions and promote teamwork.
Required profile
- Diploma or Degree (NQF level 6 or 7) in Human Resources or related field.
- Ugandan nationality, based in Kampala.
- 0‑5 years of HR experience, preferably 4‑5 years in retail/FMCG.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
