Programme Scheduler – Television Broadcasting

About the role

The Programme Scheduler will manage the daily transmission schedule for television content, ensuring seamless on‑air delivery of programs, promos and advertisements. This role works closely with the transmission team, newsroom, marketing and digital teams to align scheduling with audience preferences and promotional campaigns.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and submit the Daily Transmission Schedule (DTS) for programs, promos and adverts each day.
• Verify the day’s compilation with the transmission crew and ensure all scheduled programs are previewed and uploaded with correct ingestion lists.
• Monitor live transmission to guarantee uninterrupted broadcast and address any issues in real time.
• Analyse audience ratings, viewership trends and feedback to refine scheduling strategies.
• Ensure all content complies with broadcasting regulations and standards.
• Liaise with newsroom, marketing and commercial teams to synchronize programming with promotional activities.
• Collaborate with the digital team to curate playlists and promotional content.
• Communicate schedule changes to stakeholders and maintain accurate metadata, time‑codes and program descriptions.
• Develop contingency plans for live overruns, technical failures or last‑minute content changes.

Required profile

• Degree in Art, Film/Television, Broadcast Journalism or related field; Diploma in Technical TV Production (Scheduling, Audio & Digital Video Editing) is an advantage.
• At least 2 years of experience in broadcasting, television programming or a similar role.
• Strong attention to detail, decision‑making and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Ability to work long, odd hours in a fast‑paced environment and adapt to changing trends in linear and digital broadcasting.
