Quantity Surveyor - Public Infrastructure Costing Assignment

About the role

Urban Scape Design Associates Ltd (URSDA), a planning and design consultancy based in Kampala, is staffing a public infrastructure planning study in northern Uganda. It is looking for a Quantity Surveyor for a short assignment of about 6 weeks, starting in November 2026.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare indicative costs for public infrastructure, including roads, water, power, schools, health facilities and markets.
• Build unit rates from current Ugandan prices, using price data collected by the field team.
• Build a clear Excel cost model that others can check and update.
• Set out your assumptions and work closely with the planners.

Required profile

• A qualification in quantity surveying, or in civil engineering with strong costing experience.
• At least 3 years of experience costing public infrastructure in Uganda.
• Careful work to a short deadline.
• Professional registration is not required.

Required skills

• Strong Excel skills.
