Sales Agent – Trade Finance (Kampala)

About the role

The Sales Agent position is a full‑time, on‑site role based in Kampala, focusing on promoting trade finance and related financial services. You will be responsible for generating new business opportunities, guiding clients through the sales process, and building lasting relationships that support the company’s growth in the region.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and approach prospective clients in the Kampala market.
• Present trade finance and related financial services, guiding clients through the full sales cycle from initial contact to agreement closure.
• Maintain regular communication, respond to inquiries, and deliver high‑quality customer service to build long‑term relationships.
• Meet defined sales targets, prepare proposals, and coordinate with internal product and service teams to ensure accurate information delivery.
• Record client interactions and sales activities accurately, and participate in training sessions, local events, and market‑trend monitoring.

Required profile

• Strong communication and customer‑service abilities, with a professional and clear client engagement style.
• Proven sales competencies such as lead generation, negotiation and deal closing.
• Knowledge of insurance and financial products or a willingness to learn them quickly.
• Ability to absorb new information rapidly and, when needed, train clients or colleagues on product features.
• Relevant experience in trade finance, banking, insurance or financial services is an advantage.
• Organizational attention to detail and a results‑oriented mindset to achieve sales targets.
• Comfort working on‑site in Kampala and collaborating with diverse teams and clients.
• Diploma or degree in Business, Finance, Marketing or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
