Sales Executive

About the role

Pacific International Lines (PIL) is seeking a proactive Sales Executive to drive export and import sales in Uganda. Based in Kampala, you will collaborate with the documentation and logistics teams to secure freight business, generate leads and expand key accounts.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and edit commercial reports and analyse data to generate sales leads.
• Utilise CRM/LMS tools to manage customer information and sales pipelines.
• Secure both import and export business, following up on import manifests and TBL conversions.
• Generate and convert leads with key accounts into customers.
• Coordinate with import and export documentation teams to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Conduct market research to identify potential clients and market trends.
• Ensure accuracy and compliance of freight rates, issue work orders and update freight contracts.
• Manage freight discrepancies, issue Freight Correction Advice and maintain operational efficiency.

• Results‑driven, able to handle high operational pressure and multitask.
• Team player with strong coordination and stakeholder management skills.
• Self‑driven, capable of working with limited supervision.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sales or related field.
• Minimum five (5) years’ experience in sales or customer service within the shipping industry.
