Senior Project Officer – MEAL

About the role

The Senior Project Officer – MEAL will lead monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning activities for a CRS project in Uganda. Reporting to the Project Director, the incumbent will ensure that project data are collected, analysed and used to improve impact for vulnerable communities.

Key responsibilities

• Organise and implement all MEAL activities in line with CRS standards, donor requirements and best practices.
• Lead the rollout of the feedback, complaints and response mechanism (FCRM) and ensure timely response to community feedback.
• Collect, validate and report project data through national information systems, working with government counterparts to improve data quality.
• Facilitate national and sub‑national consultations to identify MEAL system strengths and gaps, and support capacity‑strengthening plans.
• Provide technical assistance and mentoring to government MEAL personnel and local partners.
• Coordinate MEAL‑related relationships with all local stakeholders and act as liaison between them and the project team.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading MEAL functions in development or humanitarian projects.
• Strong coordination and relationship‑management skills.
• Ability to analyse implementation challenges and recommend adjustments.
• Experience working with government agencies and national data systems.
