Stock Controller

About the role

SMARTEC ELECTRONICS LTD is seeking a diligent Stock Controller to oversee inventory across its warehouse network in Kampala. The role ensures accurate stock levels, supports warehouse operations, and collaborates with procurement, sales, and finance teams.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain accurate stock levels across all warehouse locations.
• Process goods received, stock transfers, and dispatches in the inventory system.
• Conduct regular physical stock counts and cycle counts, reconciling against system records.
• Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies, damages, and losses.
• Coordinate with warehouse staff on proper storage, labeling, and FIFO/FEFO practices.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly stock reports for management.
• Maintain documentation for all goods received and dispatched and support internal and external audits.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics or related field.
• 2–4 years of experience in stock/inventory control, preferably in retail, FMCG or distribution.
• Experience with inventory/ERP systems such as QuickBooks, Zoho, SAP or Tally.
• Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
