Supervisor BCO (Base Communications Office)

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Supervisor BCO to lead the installation, operation, and maintenance of the Base Telecommunications Distribution System for a US Navy program. The role is based in Kampala, Uganda and requires strong technical expertise in telecom infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee installation and operation of the Base Telecommunications Distribution System and its components.
• Maintain switch operations, switchboard functions, inside‑plant telephone switches, and station equipment.
• Manage customer‑premise cabling and outside‑plant fiber‑optic/copper cable networks.
• Supervise and train personnel responsible for communications system upkeep.
• Monitor system performance, conduct inspections, and ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Document installations, testing, preventive maintenance, and technical reports.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to resolve issues and maintain continuous communications.

Required profile

• Proven experience in telecommunications system installation and maintenance.
• Industry certifications such as BICSI Registered Technician Level or higher.
• Ability to lead, train, and manage technical teams.
• Strong troubleshooting skills to minimize downtime.
