Technical Advisor II - Child Protection and Care System Strengthening

About the role

The Technical Advisor II – Child Protection and Care System Strengthening will serve as the subject‑matter expert for strengthening child protection, care and development systems in Uganda. Reporting to the Project Director, the Advisor will provide technical guidance, support capacity development and contribute to policy and practice improvements for vulnerable children and families.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance on child protection systems, care reform, case management, alternative care and social service workforce strengthening.
• Assist government, civil‑society, faith‑based and community actors in developing and adapting policies, regulations, standards, SOPs, tools and guidance at national and sub‑national levels.
• Develop training materials, deliver coaching, training and supportive supervision to project teams, partners and system actors.
• Collaborate with the global technical counterpart, MEAL team and implementation partners to ensure coordinated, evidence‑based approaches.
• Support monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning by ensuring relevant data are captured, interpreted and used for program improvement.

Required profile

• Demonstrated expertise in child protection and care system strengthening.
• Experience working with government, NGOs, faith‑based and community stakeholders in Uganda or similar contexts.
• Proven ability to develop training materials and provide technical coaching.
• Strong understanding of evidence‑based programming, monitoring and learning processes.
