VP of Network Engineering

About the role

Share is building a global marketplace for bandwidth, aggregating telco infrastructure into a single intelligence layer for ISPs, hyperscalers and AI companies. We are looking for a VP of Network Engineering to lead the function that designs, builds and operates this network estate. Reporting directly to the founders, you will own the backbone, aggregation, access, peering and the systems that support them.

Key responsibilities

• Define and publish protocols, standards and reference architectures that partner ISPs will adopt.
• Drive AI‑enabled operations: anomaly detection, predictive failure analysis, automated triage, traffic‑engineering decisions and config‑drift detection.
• Own the BGP edge strategy, including IP transit partnerships and public/private peering at major exchanges.
• Set and enforce policy posture – filter chains, route policies, communities, RPKI and traffic‑engineering logic.
• Direct MPLS services in the backbone (L3VPN, EVPN) and manage multi‑tenant slicing of the shared physical infrastructure.
• Lead a high‑leverage engineering team while remaining hands‑on for critical debugging and on‑call support.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership in large‑scale network engineering environments.
• Hands‑on expertise with BGP, MPLS, peering and routing policy.
• Experience designing standards or reference architectures for multi‑partner ecosystems.
• Strong partner‑facing skills and ability to integrate external ISPs into a common platform.
• Comfortable operating at deep technical levels, including 2 am BGP debug sessions.
