Senior Systems Engineer – RADIUS & BNG Infrastructure

About the role

Share is building Africa’s internet backbone by aggregating under‑utilised telecom assets. We are looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to own and scale the network‑facing infrastructure that authenticates ISP subscribers and integrates with partner BNG equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, configure, deploy and monitor the central FreeRADIUS proxy architecture.
• Manage per‑partner FreeRADIUS instances, their databases and Hono API overlays.
• Collaborate with the network team to define and validate BNG configuration changes for each ISP partner.
• Own the provisioning pipeline that pushes subscriber credentials and plan attributes to RADIUS servers.
• Write deployment scripts, troubleshoot authentication failures, and ensure high availability as the partner base grows from 5 to 50 ISPs.
• Serve as the escalation point for subscriber authentication issues and BNG integration problems.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience with FreeRADIUS and RADIUS proxy deployments.
• Strong background in ISP‑level networking and BNG configuration.
• Proven ability to build and scale infrastructure in production environments.
• Excellent collaboration skills with network and software engineering teams.
