Accountant & Administrative Assistant

About the role

God Helps Uganda, a Christian NGO working across Northern and Central Uganda to empower vulnerable children, youth and communities through education, spiritual nurture and vocational training, is hiring an Accountant & Administrative Assistant. The position is based in Kampala, Uganda, on site, full time, and applicants must currently live in Lira City or Lira District.

Key responsibilities

• Record income and expenses in QuickBooks Online (QBO)
• Maintain accurate financial records and assist with bank reconciliations and reports
• Keep asset records and support audit preparation
• Provide administrative support to the Field Director, including filing, data entry and research
• Help with statutory and compliance matters such as URA, URSB and the Data Protection Office
• Maintain insurance and organisational records

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
• Familiarity with Ugandan accounting practices and regulations
• Strong attention to detail, organisation and confidentiality

Required skills

• Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online (QBO)
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and other office applications
