Accountant – Financial Operations for Visa Centre

About the role

VAS Global Services is seeking an experienced Accountant to manage the financial activities of its Visa Application Centre in Kampala. The role covers branch accounting, cash and revenue reconciliation, reporting, payroll support and audit preparation.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily financial transactions, maintain accurate accounting records and reconcile cash collections, visa fees, POS settlements and bank deposits.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly financial and revenue reports, support payroll processing and monitor operational expenses.
• Process refunds, waivers and revenue adjustments in line with approval procedures.
• Support budgeting, cost control, vendor payments and ensure audit‑ready records for internal, statutory and external audits.
• Ensure compliance with VAT, statutory requirements, accounting standards and collaborate with the centralized Finance team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• 4–5 years of experience in accounting, finance, audit or similar roles.
• Professional certification such as CPA or CMA preferred.
• Fluency in English and ability to work in a culturally diverse environment.
