About the role
The Department of Pharmacy at Makerere University is seeking an Assistant Lecturer to join its academic team. This full‑time position involves teaching, supervising research, mentoring junior staff, and contributing to community outreach and departmental development.
Key responsibilities
- Teach, examine and grade pharmacy students.
- Supervise student research projects.
- Mentor junior academic and support staff.
- Conduct research and community outreach activities.
- Write proposals to attract funding for the department.
- Perform any other official duties assigned by the Head of Department.
Required profile
- Master’s degree in Pharmacy or related science (e.g., Advanced Pharmaceutical Manufacturing, Industrial Pharmacy, Pharmaceutics, Cosmetics Science) or equivalent.
- Upper second class Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy from a programme recognised by the National Council for Higher Education.
- Registered pharmacist with the Pharmaceutical Society of Uganda and the Ministry of Health.
