Assistant Manager, Investments

About the role

The Assistant Manager, Investments will support the management of investment portfolios for ICEA LION Asset Management Uganda. You will conduct research, monitor market developments, analyse performance and risk, and prepare investment reports. The role also contributes to portfolio strategy, trade execution, compliance and client relationship activities.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct investment research and monitor market trends.
• Analyse portfolio performance, risk metrics and prepare regular reports.
• Assist in developing portfolio strategies and executing trades.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and support audit processes.
• Maintain client relationships and support business development initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, finance, commerce or a related field.
• 3‑4 years of experience in investment support or portfolio management.
• Progress towards CFA designation and CISI certification.
• Strong knowledge of financial markets, investment instruments, portfolio theory and risk management.
• Excellent analytical, quantitative, communication and presentation skills.
• High attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
