Assistant Restaurant Manager – Kampala

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Assistant Restaurant Manager to support the daily operations of a standalone restaurant/café in Kampala. The role requires strong leadership, excellent customer service, and the ability to maintain 5‑star standards in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage complete restaurant operations during assigned shifts.
• Ensure high standards of food quality, presentation, ambience, and customer satisfaction.
• Supervise floor operations and staff performance.
• Plan and coordinate staff shifts for smooth operations during peak hours.
• Handle customer complaints professionally and efficiently.
• Prepare daily sales and food control reports.
• Train and supervise front‑end restaurant staff.
• Maintain company grooming and uniform standards.
• Maximize sales and profitability through excellent guest service.
• Maintain restaurant security and operational standards, conduct shift checklists and audits.
• Coordinate with chefs, supervisors, baristas, controllers, and storekeepers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Hotel Management.
• 10+ years of experience in restaurant or coffee‑shop operations within a 5‑star hotel.
• Minimum 3 years of managerial experience.
• Preferred age range: 28–32 years.
• Strong leadership and communication abilities.
• Excellent command of English.
• Self‑motivated, dependable, and customer‑focused.
• Proven track record in previous assignments.
