Associate Research Manager – HAPT (Ethiopia, based in Kampala)

About the role
IMPACT Initiatives is seeking an Associate Research Manager (HAPT) to lead research cycles focused on Ethiopia’s humanitarian context. Based in Kampala with regular travel to Addis Ababa, the role supports data‑driven analysis of displacement, climate impacts, and conflict‑related needs.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, execute, and supervise research cycles, including preparation, data collection, analysis, drafting, dissemination and evaluation.
- Coordinate with partners and stakeholders to ensure their participation and maximize impact.
- Manage resources efficiently and transparently, overseeing assessment teams as needed.
- Report findings to the IMPACT Research Manager and contribute to strategic decision‑making.
Required profile
- Experience in humanitarian research or related fields.
- Strong understanding of Ethiopia’s socio‑political and environmental challenges.
- Ability to work independently and travel frequently between Kampala and Addis Ababa.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
