Branch Manager – Banking Operations

About the role

The Branch Manager leads the overall performance of a bank branch, ensuring sales, revenue, deposits, risk assets and efficiency targets are met while delivering high‑quality customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Drive sales, revenue, deposit growth and risk‑asset targets in line with approved budgets.
• Maintain market discipline, product and service standards, and benchmark operational efficiency against industry best practices.
• Monitor and analyse MIS data to identify new business opportunities and improve retention.
• Manage branch costs, aiming for a target cost‑to‑income ratio.
• Brief staff on product launches, provide feedback and ensure compliance with service standards.
• Build relationships with key clients and community influencers.
• Track daily to annual performance indicators, including sales, deposits, provisions and cost metrics.
• Own escalated customer queries, achieve high satisfaction scores and maintain ATM/POS uptime.
• Lead recruitment, appraisal, training and succession planning for branch staff.
• Ensure compliance with HR and Group policies and drive a high‑performing team culture.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing a banking branch or similar financial operation.
• Strong analytical ability to interpret MIS reports and drive business decisions.
• Excellent people‑management skills, including coaching, performance management and staff development.
• Customer‑focused mindset with a track record of achieving satisfaction targets.
• Ability to control costs and meet profitability objectives.
