About the role
The International Rescue Committee is seeking a dedicated Case Worker to lead Child Protection interventions across several refugee settlements in Uganda. The role focuses on rapid, life‑saving activities for vulnerable children and households, ensuring timely response to protection risks.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct case investigations and management (BIA, BID, case planning, implementation and closure) using ProGres version 4.
- Support referrals for high‑priority cases and coordinate family tracing and reunification with partner agencies.
- Facilitate case conferences, present cases, and link children to specialized services.
- Provide community structures with case management tools and respond to emerging reports via FRRM and toll‑free lines.
- Prepare concept notes, work plans and project documentation within agreed timeframes.
Required profile
- Strong communication, networking and training abilities, especially with children and communities.
- Experience in child protection, humanitarian response, or social work in high‑severity contexts.
- Ability to document field experiences and emerging protection issues accurately.
Required skills
- ProGres version 4 case management system.
